I began teaching Spanish on the beautiful island of Maui in 2006 and moved to Oahu in 2017 to serve as the World Languages Specialist for the Hawaii Department of Education. My mission this year has been to share knowledge about SLA research and theory and CLT and to encourage teachers to use the TL 90% or more of the time in the classroom and to focus on providing appropriate level input and interaction for students before expecting output. I am also currently serving as the Awards Chair for SWCOLT and HALT.
